My first class was a night class, if I remember correctly it was ethics. I had to go to the campus a few hours early to make it to the bookstore before they closed. I nervously, trying to remember the campus map in my head, made way to the bookstore. I successfully got my books, and wandered around campus. There was many new things to check out, I also found where all of my other classes were. Then, finally after my hour plus of wandering ended I headed for my class.
To my surprise, there was one of my high school friends sitting alone at a table and set my things down to endure my first class as a college student. Overall, a harmless experience.
Good story. It all can be a little overwhelming at first.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to your experiance at the college. I was pushing my deadline for registration to the very end. I liked your story a lot

ReplyDeleteMistakes:
• Two run-on sentences. This one should have been broken into two: There was many new things to check out, I also found where all of my other classes were. This one could have been combined with a semicolon: My first class was a night class, if I remember correctly it was ethics.
• This sentence didn't need a semicolon. But, once I got that all figure out, I made sure to order my books online for pick up; so I wouldn't have to deal with finding the right book, along with the crowded bookstore.
Hi Cassie--
ReplyDeleteI liked the way you brought up the "nitty gritty" about your first day at school. It was the stuff that practically all of us can relate to. For ex: I, too, remember how frazzled I felt when caught unprepared because the summer ended quicker than I expected. As a result of that unsettling experience, I learned a valuable lesson the hard way. Ever since, I've tried to be better prepared for a new semester. Thanks for sharing.
